In Nepal modern edcation begins with establishing first school in 1853.
It is only for member of ruling families. Schooling for the general people began after 1951.

Now in Nepal:-
 literacy(age15+)= 60.3%  (female 46.3%, male 73%)
schools= 49,000 (including higher secondary)

universities= 5
Academic higher studies= 2

7.2 million students  and more than 222,000 teachers
